Milton Erickson
Hypnosis used as a therapy is a discipline that allows access to the unconsciousness of the person. Therefore, the practitioner has a wide variety of tools at his or her disposal that allow him or her to accompany the person who consults in the process of learning and desired change.
One of the most influential and widespread branches of therapeutic hypnosis is Ericksonian hypnosis, which was created by Dr. Milton Hyland Erickson (1901-1980) who is considered the father of modern hypnotherapy. The Ericksonian approach influences the majority of practitioners in their therapy today.
It is important to note that although hypnosis has the capacity to bring beneficial effects to the health of certain patients, it does not cure. Hypnosis can make improvements in people by using their own natural resources in the recovery process. Hypnosis can never substitute for proper medical care.
